Hair Botox
Hair Botox is a deep-conditioning smoothing treatment, not a chemical straightener. A protein-rich mask is worked through the hair and sealed with heat, filling the microscopic gaps that cause frizz and dullness. Your natural texture and volume stay; the frizz does not. At Cruz Hairworks in Whitley Bay this is a two-hour appointment, using Cocochoco Professional, a formaldehyde-free, sulphate-free and paraben-free system. Results last around three to six months. What the two-hour Hair Botox appointment includes

Two hours suits most hair up to around shoulder length, or longer hair that is fine to medium in density. If your hair is long, very thick, or both, book Hair Botox Extra Long at £165 instead so there is enough time to apply the product properly. We will confirm which one you need at your consultation.
Is Hair Botox the right treatment for you?
It works well if your hair is frizzy in damp coastal weather, dry or porous after colour, dull and lacking shine, or simply taking too long to blow-dry. It is a good choice for fine hair that would not cope with a stronger straightening service, because it conditions rather than restructures.
It is not the right treatment if you want your hair genuinely straightened. That is a keratin smoothing conversation, and we would rather tell you at consultation than have you spend £130 on the wrong thing.
Consultation and patch test
Every Hair Botox booking starts with a consultation, and a patch test is required at least 48 hours before your appointment. The patch test takes a few minutes at the salon and rules out any sensitivity to the product. We will arrange both when you call.
After your appointment
Leave your hair unwashed, loose and untied for the first 24 hours. After that, a sulphate-free shampoo and a silicone-free conditioner will protect the result, and you should still use heat protection even though drying will be quicker. Most clients find the treatment holds for three to six months, depending on how often they wash their hair.
